about me

First and foremost, I’m a writer by training. In my mind, design and code are secondary compared to audience and content. Unless you’re a photographer, your online visitors come to your site because of the content, not because of the glitz (or images). Words are really what it’s all about. I earned my second master’s degree from Northern Illinois University in English - Rhetoric and Professional Writing, so I know a thing or two about crafting effective content. That’s not to say that design doesn’t come into play - far from it. Something that’s beautiful will be admired more than something that isn’t, so I’ve taken pains to become familiar with Photoshop and the history of design. I also know how to translate PSD’s into semantic code.

my favorite things

I’m not afraid to admit I have a life beyond the Internet - I have a beautiful daughter and I’m married to a wonderful woman. We have a pug named Bugatti. I like to read, bicycle, and play my Taylor guitar (in no particular order).
