Critter Sitter

Critter Sitters’ old website was in bad shape: it was outdated, it took a long time to load, and they had audio of a barking dog. Clearly, something needed to be done. They came to me and I helped them out. Their new site is simple, clean, and easily maintainable.

Center for Nonprofit Leadership

  • Design
  • Code

With this redesign of the Center for Nonprofit Leadership at McHenry County College, I wanted to simplify the layout to draw attention to the content. I updated the fonts and color palette to modernize the brand. Trust me, it looks loads better than the original iteration. This comp is still pending approval.

ILC-Newsline

  • Code

With this redesign of the Linear Collider - Newsline they wanted a clean, grid-based design that would stand the test of time. Not to mention a quick turnaround. What to do? Use YUI Grids, of course.

MAP - Community Engagement Project

  • Design
  • Code

We got this comp from a design firm and had to turn it into a website - quick. Yeah, I can "slice-and-dice" a PSD with the best of 'em, and crank out standards-compliant HTML and CSS under pressure. We also skinned a Ning social networking site to complement the website.

Naperville Presbyterian Church

  • Code

My task in redesigning NPC's website was to turn the homepage design into a working webpage. Of course I made judicious use of the BlueTrip CSS Framework to get the ball rolling.

kkaufman design

  • Design
  • Code

Kelly Kaufman needed a clean, simple website to showcase her print designs. We worked together to highlight her experience and relevant work samples. A little jQuery action helped with the photo gallery. The end result is a website that is standards-compliant and search engine friendly.

Windsor Pointe

  • Design
  • Code

I was given a basic comp to turn into a website. Oh, by the way, add a newsletter too. Ok. Kick it out fast - hello, CSS Grids!

Fairytale Photography

  • Design
  • Code

This is a comp I did of a Flash-based website. I redesigned the website to reflect a fairytale theme, and I even added the ability for the photographer to manage the different photo galleries via Flickr and a little jQuery magic.

MCC Emergency Website

  • Design
  • Code

I created urgent.mchenry.edu website as a crisis communications tool for McHenry County College. What's neat about this website is that it's powered offsite by Blogger, and you can even post updates via email or even from your phone!

KnowPlace Pet Services

  • Design
  • Code

KnowPlace Pet Services wanted to update their website and increase their organic search ranking. I used a CSS framework to produce a standards-compliant website that is lean, clean, and easy to maintain.

Trinity Executive Partnership

  • Design
  • Code

Trinity Executive Partnership wanted a simple, straightforward website that plainly reflected what they stood for. I delivered a grid-based design that emphasized their slogan and headings. I also added depth by selecting sub-header images that were consistent with their message and audience.

Rebekah's House

  • Design
  • Code

Rebekah's House contacted me to update and maintain their site. I agreed, on one condition: that I could recode it to bring in line with web standards. The site now loads faster and is easier to maintain. I also implemented PagelimeCMS so they could maintain their own content.
